Channing Tatum is an American actor with an estimated net worth of $50 million. He was born on April 26, 1980 in Cullman, Alabama. His mother, Kay, worked for an airline. His father, Glenn, worked as a construction worker. Hs has a sister whose name is Paige, and he grew up as a fairly well-rounded kid with a happy home life and a good sense of right and wrong. As a child, he moved to Mississippi and began to go to school there. The family lived in what can only be considered a very rural area of the state, and sports were a big deal around his parts. For that reason, Channing Tatum spent a great deal of time working on his athletic prowess. He participated in martial arts, played football, baseball, track and soccer, and he was always distracted by the ladies.
When it was time for Channing Tatum to enter high school, he found that his parents felt he was not putting forth nearly as much effort as they wanted. It was their decision to send him to either a private high school or a military school, leaving the final decision up to the future actor. He chose to go to a Catholic high school and he pursued sports while there. After receiving a full scholarship to Glenville State College in West Virginia, he enrolled but dropped out at a later date after realizing he really just had no interest in education. He made the decision to return to his parents’ home and begin working as a roofer. However, he did not like the job, the hours and the lack of money, so he decided to get a job working as a stripper instead. His parents were not pleased.
It was 2000 before Channing Tatum got his big break. He was cast as a dancer in a Ricky Martin video for “She Bangs,” and that’s when people began to notice his moves and his handsome features. That job led to more jobs in the modeling industry, where he was a model for designers such as Armani and the more low-key Abercrombie and Fitch. Commercials were his next venture, and it was not until 2008 that he began to star in movies. His first was called “Stop-Less” and it wasn’t well known. He continued to star in small movies without much of a hit. It was when he began to take on bigger roles in movies such as “G.I. Joe,” that he began to see more fame.
However, it was the 2010 movie adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ famous book, “Dear John,” that made him famous when he played the lead character. From there, women everywhere fell in love with him and that led him to play even more famous roles in the biggest movies of the decade.
In 2006, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan worked on a movie together, and they fell in love. They got engaged two years later, and they got married a year after that. The two welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2013. A shocking admission came in 2014 when he told a magazine interviewer that he is a very high-functioning alcoholic.
