How to Create Your Own Miley Cyrus Costume for Halloween

Throughout her career, Miley Cyrus has become well known for her style of dress and various stage costumes.  Miley’s array of odd clothing items may be perfect for people looking for a fun and quirky Halloween costume.  Some celebrities even donned their best Miley Cyrus gear and acted out their best impersonations. While Miley’s clothing probably costs more than most people would be willing to spend on a costume, dressing like the 21 year old star may be easier than you think, as many of her most noteworthy items can be recreated for next to nothing.

Those who desire to dress up like the young wrecking ball must first consider which Miley they want to be; is it the Disney Channel sweetheart or the post-teen twerker? Chances are, most people will lean towards present day Miley. Hair and makeup will be a must when trying to re-create Miley’s unique look.

While Miley’s makeup tends to vary, one thing you can count on is that you will need a decent amount of eye makeup and lipstick.  During performances and appearances, Miley can usually be seen wearing natural colored eyeshadow, mascara, and a bright colored (usually red) lip.  Miley’s hair has changed drastically over the course of her career, but her most recent look is a short blonde due cut very low on the sides.  Although Miley typically wears her hair combed sideways or backwards, she has also been seen sporting pigtail-buns.

Deciding which one of Miley’s outfits to mimic can be a trying task.  However, if you want to be recognized; it is probably best to wear one of her more recognizable pieces.  A common favorite is Miley’s jersey-dress combination which she wore in the video for her popular song 23.  Another big hit has been Miley’s twerking-bear outfit which she wore during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.  In fact, last year, this racy get-up became a very popular costume for those looking to dress up like the young singer.   The twerking-bear can be easily dubbed using some common clothing items and a touch of creativity.  This video, by YouTube user Shelley L. will give you some more quick and easy tips to replicate Miley’s look in no time.
