Dancing with the Stars Sends a Tearful Dancer Home

DWTS

Dancing with the Stars is quickly coming to an end, and it’s never been more evident than last night, when the competition was finally whittled down by one star that’s been hovering over the bottom for weeks. Spoiler alert: Michael Waltrip was finally sent home. Viewers made their decision and he was cut from the competition. And then there were six.

Before the big elimination, there were seven couples. We’re down now to six, which means that it’s almost time for the semi-finals, the free-style and the winner of the mirror ball trophy. The theme of last night’s show was famous pairs, and each of the seven couples on the show managed to perform well during each routine given the fact that they had to learn more than one dance this week.

Last night the ballroom saw everything from the infamous Bonnie and Clyde duo to the star-crossed lovers that were Romeo and Juliet to the hilarious Ricky and Lucy Ricardo. There was even a little bit of June and Johnny Cash, some Batman and Robin, Tarzan and Jane, and the show even went biblical with the introduction of a dance by Adam and Eve.

At the end of the night it was Val and Janel Parrish that took home the highest score, a perfect 40, with their rendition of Romeo and Juliet. Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas weren’t far behind as Adam and Eve with a score of 38 and they tied with Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson as Batman and Robin. Up next was the partner dance off in which the couples got to choose other couples to compete a short dance with before facing the judges. The winners were, to fans who watch the show weekly, obvious from the start, and it was a fun twist to end the night.
