Derek Hough to Guest Star on Nashville

Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough is coming back to ABC this fall, and not just to reprise his role as multi-season winner on the hit reality television show. The dance pro is going to make his primetime acting debut with a role on the hit show Nashville. The superstar dancer is slated to appear in “several” episodes of the drama alongside Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton, as well as other famous cast members.

So, who is the dance pro going to play? A dancer? The answer is no; he’s going to be an actor on the show. According to ABC, 29-year-old Hough will portray a 20-something actor by the name of Noah West. His character fits into the series after being asked to star in a biopic about a famous country singer in the show.

This is not a first for Hough. He’s been on television a long time working as a professional dancer on DWTS. However, he’s also got a bit of acting history. He took to the stage to star in Footloose: The Musical, and he’s been the star in a movie called Make Your Move. However, his coolest movie role was a long time ago, when he was just a child. Hough had the cool job of being a nameless student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the huge movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Now that fans have even more reason to look forward to the September 24 return of Nashville, the wait is going to seem even longer. However, for those looking forward to seeing Hough appear on the drama, you’re going to have to wait until October, when his episodes are scheduled to appear. If you just can’t wait to see the dancer back on television, you’ll just have to turn on the premiere of DWTS on September 15.
