Door Falls off Bono’s Plane in Mid-Air
There are some things that you just don’t want to hear, and plane incidents are one of those things. Imagine being in the middle of the air and realizing that a door fell off your private jet. That’s exactly what happened to U2’s Bono on Wednesday when he was on his way from Ireland to Germany. According to official reports, the musician was aboard a private jet headed for Germany when the door to the luggage compartment of his jet fell right off. There is no word as to where it is – no one knows.
The good news is that there was no affect on the cabin pressure or the flight when the door was lost. In fact, it’s suspected that no one even realized that the door was lost right away. Aviation officials state that an investigation into why the door fell off the plane and where it might be could take as long as a year. The door is believed to be somewhere in a heavily wooded area that is not going to be easy to search. So far, authorities have seen no sign of the door.
Bono was en route to Germany to receive an award, and he certainly was not expecting to have an issue such as this on his way to the country. In fact, no one expects to have an issue such as this; especially on a very expensive Learjet. So far, Bono or his people have declined to make any sort of public comments regarding the incident, though it’s likely safe to say that the musician is probably a little bit shaken up. The loss of anything from a plane in mid-air is enough to shake anyone up – even a famous rocker who has a reputation to uphold. We’re just glad that the door is the only thing lost on that flight.
