Five Things You Didn’t Know about Asa Soltan Rahmati

In 2012, Bravo debuted Shahs of Sunset, a realty TV series which follows the lives of several Iranian American friends.  The show quickly became a hit amongst Bravo’s viewers and has recently entered its fourth season on the air. While many cast members have come and gone, veteran, Asa Soltan Rahmati, remains one of the most popular people on the show.  Between her up-front personality and hardworking mentality, there is something about her that viewers just seem to be drawn to.  However, Rahmati’s rise to the top was definitely full of challenges and set backs.  Here are five things you didn’t know about Asa Soltan Rahmati.

1. Music helped her learn English.

Asa Soltan Rahmati and her family migrated to the United States when she was just a teenager.  She says that listening to music by Public Enemy and Michael Jackson helped her learn English.

2. She has a degree from UCLA.

Asa Soltan Rahmati is a very smart and driven business woman who takes pride in everything she does.  To help accomplish her goals, she attended UCLA where she earned a degrees in both Psychology and Philosophy, both of which can come in handy to someone on a reality TV show.

3. She once believed that Jermaine Jackson is her soul mate.

With Michael Jackson’s music being very influential to Asa Soltan Rahmati’s life, it’s a little ironic that she once dated one of his nephews. For several years, she was in a relationship with  Jermaine Jackson Jr. and even stated that she believed he was her soul mate during their relationship.

4. She lived in Germany.

Before migrating to the United States, Rahmati and her family were living in Germany.  The family was forced to leave their home country of Iran when Rahmati was just eight years old.

5. Being authentic is very important to her.

The perception of most reality TV stars is that they are fake and self-absorbed.  However, Rahmati says that being authentic is very important to her.  Despite her fame, she seems to be dedicated to staying true to herself and her family.
