Young Hollywood is so different than it used to be. Once, if you were a young star on TV, that is what you were. Now, you can use that as a spring board to dive into other interests and passions. Though Lauren Conrad may be best known for Laguna Beach on MTV, much has happened in around this young star’s life that many do not know about. Here are five things you didn’t know about Lauren Conrad.

Loves The Hunger Games
Seems Lauren Conrad is a huge fan of the book and film series and relates to Katniss quite a bit. We sometimes forget the celebrities are also fans, just like the rest of us. No word on whether she may have tried out for the films, but there are a few left, so anything can happen!

Her Favorite Reality Show is Dirty Jobs
Though maybe you would see her and assume something different, of all the reality shows (even coming from the fact that she was on one) it seems Lauren Conrad has a secret passion for the reality show Dirty Jobs. The show that focuses on different, um, unpleasant jobs some people may have (no disrespect meant to anyone in any of those fields!) I bet you would have assumed she would have said her own show, huh? Nope, this one is full of surprises.

Has Two Fashion Lines
Not one to rely solely on the name she built for herself through her reality show and The Hills, Lauren Conrad also has two clothing companies she runs. First off there is LC Lauren Conrad. Her second line is called Paper Crown. Both have done quite well and show the world there is so much more to this star then just her pretty face and high end upbringing.

Getting Married Later This Year
Seems the wedding date is set for Fall of 2014 between her and her beau, musician William Tell (not to be confused with the arrow guy). He is the guitarist for the band Something Corporate, and the couple met in 2012 and the rest is typical storybook stuff. Does anyone else find it funny that his band name is Something Corporate, and he is marrying someone who started out on reality TV. Whether or not you know it, there is great irony there.

One of the Few Respected Survivors of Reality TV
The reason people actually like Lauren Conrad as oppose to how they feel about most reality TV stars is, there is something genuine about her. She never came across as catty or manipulative, which is one of the reasons she was able to parlay her time on Laguna Beach into an actual career. Not many reality stars can say that. With writing, clothing lines, and acting as just a few of her talents, we don’t expect Lauren Conrad to disappear anytime soon.
