Highlights from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
I will say, that giant Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball float smashing into those buildings sure was crazy, huh? Okay, Okay, so that never actually happened during the 2013 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. But you know what, it could have. That is the crazy world we are living in these days. You just never know what you’ll see on live TV. Thankfully, the Macy’s parade seems to be consistently entertaining, and they never lower themselves or stoop to any levels to achieve that. Just a good, old fashioned Thanksgiving tradition.
Desert News has a really cool slideshow about the coolest memories from Macy’s parades of past. We thought we would pair that with talking about one of our favorite moments from yesterday’s parade. For me, it was seeing the Adventure Tine float. What this did was open the door for my family to ask “who is that”, which I used as the precursor to me talking about that spectacular show for about an hour. Any excuse I can have to talk to anyone about Adventure Time, I will take. It was really cool to see the new world riding along with the old world. When Finn and Jake and Pikachu all float through New York, you can bet its a pretty good day.
On top of that, they had country acts, and they had pop acts, and they had celebrities. Oh, and ofcourse, Santa. The Macy’s parade is always Santa’s first stop of the year, and I wont lie, the man was looking good. Good enough to bring me a PS4 for Christmas? I guess we will see in a few weeks.
For now, just wanted to give the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade some props. It is a little bit of wholesome in an otherwise tainted world.
