Joe Giudice Sentenced to 41 Months Prison Time and 2 Years Probation

Teresa Giudice outside of court

The news is not good for Real Housewife of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice, and her husband Joe Giudice. The pair went to court today for sentencing after pleading guilty to dozens of counts of mortgage fraud and other criminal charges. Today was the last time that the couple had to appear in court, and the news is not what the couple wanted to hear. Joe Giudice, father of 4 little girls, is going to jail for the next three-and-a-half years. He’s been sentenced to 41 months in prison.

At the moment, his wife Teresa has not been sentenced. Her hope is that she will not be sent to jail so that she can stay home and raise their children while her husband is in prison. However, a judge will issue her sentence later today.

Joe Giudice’s 41 months is for four different counts and an additional 12 months for an additional count that will be concurrent. Additionally, he has to serve two years probation and repay approximately $424,000, $10,000 of which is for fines and the rest is to Wells Fargo. He is not being sent to prison today as he can surrender himself.

Here’s how the prison term for Giudice will go. If Teresa is sentenced to time in jail, she will serve first. Joe will not serve time until after she is released because of the four children the two share. While justice must be served, the court does understand the importance of raising their children and will make an allowance for that on their behalf. As far as the fact that Joe could be deported to Italy, the judge in the case said that he will not act on that until after Joe serves his prison sentence. Additionally, she wants Giudice to participate in a program for alcoholics.
