Prince George is Officially a Walker
The world is always fascinated with the royal family, particular the royals that go by the names of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their blonde offspring, Prince George. The excitement over a royal heir was palpable even before it was announced that Kate Middleton was expecting her first child a year and a half ago after being hospitalized for extreme morning sickness, and it just continued to grow as she progressed in her pregnancy.
When Prince George was born, fans of the royals were as excited as they were for the royal wedding, and every mention and photo of little Prince George sparks a fury of excitement in the media. That’s why, in the few weeks before the little prince turns 1, fans are excited to learn that the little guy is officially a walker. The Duke and Duchess released a photo of Prince George toddling around a butterfly museum last week, and the photographer that caught this special moment on film feels honored to have been a part of that.
“He’s quick on his feet. He was walking toward me – I was kneeling down to take the picture and he was on top of me as soon as he started walking. He was very quick. He looked really stead on his feet,” said photographer John Stillwell, from the UK’s press association wire service.
The photo was careful chosen to be taken at the Sensational Butterflies exhibit because it’s so colorful and pleasant. The family and some of their staff headed to the exhibit at the beginning of July to take the official portrait. The royal family made a visit to the same area last year for business and said they were looking forward to returning to the area for some family time that was nothing short of pleasurable, and they did.
