Sandra Bullock is Hollywood’s Highest Paid Actress
The highest paid actress in Hollywood is….Sandra Bullock! It should come as no surprise that the Oscar winning actress is the highest-earning actress in the business. She’s been in the business for many years, and each movie she makes is better than the one before. What a way to celebrate her recent 50th birthday, with estimated earnings for the year topping out around $51 million.
It might seem like a lot of money, but when you consider that women are almost always paid less than men, it’s not. The top 10 actresses in Hollywood this year have a combined earning of just over $226 million, but the men in Hollywood pulled in almost twice that much with an estimated earning of more than $419 million. Women in Hollywood seem to make cents on the dollar, too.
Who is the second highest paid actress in Hollywood? That honor goes to Jennifer Lawrence. According to Forbes, she pulled in a cool $34 million in the past year, which means she won’t be worried about any real life Hunger Games in the foreseeable future.
Bullock has the Oscar winning movie Gravity to thank for her big earnings this year. The movie won 7 Oscars and brought in a respective $716 million across the globe. Lawrence can thank the Hunger Games for her big payday.
Rounding out the top five is another Jennifer and a few other actresses who have been in the game for a long time. Right behind Lawrence is Jennifer Aniston, whose earnings from FRIENDS reruns and her skincare endorsements earned her a cool $31 million. Gwyneth Paltrow comes in at number four and Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz are in a tie for fifth highest earning actresses in the business. It’s a big fall for Jolie, who was the top earning actress in Hollywood last year according to Forbes.
