Channing Tatum Parodies Jean Claude Van Damme’s Split Commericial

'White House Down' Germany Premiere

I will begrudgingly admit that Channing Tatum is one of those cool celebrities that even guys find it really hard to dislike. Don’t get me wrong, most of us hated him because our girlfriends love him, but once he made 21 Jump Street, he won us over. It was just really great to see someone that cool not afraid to laugh at themselves or make themselves look silly for a good role. Well, I will warn you, if you are trying not to like him you may not want to watch him parodying the recent Jean-Claude Van Damme commercial where he does a split on two moving trucks. Seriously, you will only like Tatum more after this.

E Online has the video, and let me tell you, it is brilliant. It is Channing Tatum on the set of 22 Jump Street (yes, that is the official sequel name) and he is in character as Jenko. It uses the same voice-over narrative idea, and even uses some Enya music, just like the actual video. Thing is, the kicker here is that when they pan back, you clearly see that Tatum is not between two trucks. We won’t ruin the punchline for you, but trust us, it shows why Tatum is impossible to dislike.

It also shows how serious and silly Van Damme’s commercial is in context.
