Three Interesting Facts about Sofia Vergara’s Ex-Fiance Nick Loeb
Nick Loeb is not a household name, but you do know him. Maybe you’re asking yourself how, and we don’t blame you; we did the same. He’s the 39-year-old man who was, up until May, engaged to be married to the hottest actress in the country; Sofia Vergara. He and Vergara dated for some time, and some say their relationship was a bit on-again, off-again. And when the couple announced they’d split for good, things became a bit awkward between the two. At one point, he was caught on camera speaking into the ear of Sofia Vergara as she was in the middle of a red carpet interview. Judging by the fake, plastered smile on her face and the look in his eye, what he had to say probably wasn’t overly friendly.
While we don’t know what caused the couple to split, we do know that there’s a lot we don’t know about Nick Loeb, and what we have learned is pretty interesting. Get ready to learn all about Sofia Vergara’s ex.
He’s From an Important Family
His father is a form US Ambassador, and his uncle is a Canadian billionaire by the name of Edgar Bronfman Sr. He grew up in an affluent home on the Upper East Side of New York City where he attended only the most prestigious schools, eventually graduating from Tulane University. His wealthy upbringing allowed him to live a life that most people only imagine in their wildest dreams.
His Mother Murdered her Husband
Loeb’s parents divorced when he was only a year old, and his father was given custody of him. This was probably for the best seeing as how it was only 20 years later when his mother killed her then-husband and herself. What their relationship was like is not very clear, but it’s been almost two decades since she’s been gone and he seems okay.
He Had Political Ambitions
He ran for Senate but dropped out of the race thanks to the fact that he was in the middle of a divorce from his ex-wife. He worked on Rudi Giuliani’s campaign in 2008 and was endorsed by him in 2011 even though he made the decision not to run based on health reasons. He used his own personal funds to pay back all the people and businesses who contributed to his Senate campaign, which makes him seem like a pretty good guy.
