Valuable Lessons We can All Learn from Nick Cannon’s Tattoo
Nick Cannon has always been a favorite of many people. He’s funny, his shows are brilliant and he comes across as the kind of guy who genuinely loves and adores his children. Of course, he’s the man who married Mariah Carey after a whirlwind romance without any notification or even the hint that the couple would wed in April 2008. Three years later they welcomed a set of boy/girl twins and three years after that – in August 2014 – the couple announced they’d been living apart for several months and were ending their marriage. Few people were surprised to hear that the couple was separated – most people began looking for an announcement about the end of their marriage shortly after finding out they were married. While their marriage did not teach anyone anything that they did not already know (most celebrity quickie marriages end in divorce), Nick Cannon did teach the world something about tattoos.
What’s that lesson? That tattoos are fine if you want one, but don’t get one of someone else’s name. It’s a bad idea all around. During their marriage, Cannon got a large tattoo on his back with Mariah’s name on it. He’s now in the process of having it covered with an even larger tattoo of the crucifixion; and we have three valuable life lessons to learn from this.
Tattoos are Forever
So many people say that they’ll get a tattoo now and get it removed later if they decide they no longer like it. Well, it’s not always possible to get a tattoo removed. Even the ones you can remove easily don’t come completely off; so think twice before you get that tattoo on your body.
Tattoos Aren’t Easily Hidden
You can cover your tattoo, sure, but it doesn’t always work. Even with a large crucifixion tattoo on his back to cover his ex’s name, you can still see a bit of the H from Mariah on his shoulder blade, and there’s just not much that can be done about that to cover it up and make it go away.
Others are Correct
If ever you say you will get a tattoo of someone else’s name on your body and your loved ones tell you it’s a bad idea, believe it. Don’t do it. Even if you do stay married forever, what happens if your spouse passes before his or her time and you are stuck with a daily reminder that you are no longer together? Or you eventually remarry and your new spouse has to look at someone else’s name on your body every single day? Just don’t do it.
