Victoria Beckham Donates 600 Items from her Personal Closet
She might be famous for not smiling, but that doesn’t make her a bad person; Victoria Beckham just made a very generous donation for a very good cause. Mrs. David Beckham, fabulous fashion designer and mother of four recently donated more than 600 items from her personal closet to charity.
Posh Spice recently teamed up with The Outnet in an effort to raise money for Mothers2mothers. It’s a foundation that provides help to women who are living with HIV and attempting to raise their children at the same time. She’s provided the company with more than 600 of her own clothing items, some dating back to her days as a Spice Girl, to auction. The proceeds from the sale of her clothing will go directly to the foundation to aid these mothers.
Some of the clothing items in the donation pile include the gorgeous Roberto Cavalli gown she donned at the 2006 World Cup party, as well as the white Dolce & Gabbana dress she wore while accompanying her husband to the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
The auction is going to be one that it’s a bit different from others. Each item will be set at a specific price and that price will drop at five minute intervals until it’s purchased. The gorgeous designer was happy to go through her (Impressive, I’m sure) closet to help raise money for charity.
“I laughed a lot when we were going through my wardrobe, as the pieces hold so many happy memories for me, David, and the children. A lot of the clothes have been specially designed for me by the most talented designers, and I’ve loved wearing them, however, I feel it’s someone else’s turn to enjoy them,” she says of the process of making her rather large donation. Here’s to making a lot of money for moms in need.
