10 Male Celebrities Who Would Make Great Drill Sergeants

Academy Of Arts And Science Hall Of Fame Induction

Although they sometimes go by different names, drill sergeants are important to ever branch in the military.  When new recruits join up, they need somebody to help them transform from measly civilians to solders ready for war – and that’s where the drill sergeant comes in. If you’ve ever seen the movie, Full Metal Jacket, you know exactly how tough a drill sergeant can be.  Sure, some drill sergeants are tougher than others, and some end up driving the recruits insane – literally.  But they all hope that their work will eventually make their branches better.  Could you imagine your favorite celebrity screaming in people’s faces and demanding intense workouts? Well we can! Here are 10 male celebrities who would make great drill sergeants.

Denzel Washington

Denzel Washington is well-known for playing tough guys.  Although he’s not necessarily an action movie star, he’s usually portraying someone who you definitely don’t want to mess with. Over the years, he’s even appeared in a few military themed movies, and there’s no question that Denzel would be a great drill sergeant.  With the perfect combination of tough love and dedication, he could easily bring out the best in a group of new recruits.

Floyd Mayweather

The 2014 ESPYS - Backstage

If there’s one thing that Floyd Mayweather demands, it’s respect.  Seriously, could you imagine what would happen to anyone who decided they weren’t going to follow his orders? Yeah, there’s a pretty good chance they would end up laid out on the floor. However, despite his obvious toughness, his relentless ability to stay focused to a strict training regiment would certainly come in handy as a drill sergeant.

Daniel Craig

2012 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards Presented By BBC AMERICA - Red Carpet

Daniel Craig is all about action.  In his portrayal of 007, he was kicking butt and taking names like it was nobody’s business. If he could just take a little bit of that performance and bring it into real life, he would definitely make a pretty convincing drill sergeant.  Although he doesn’t seem like much of a screamer, he has what it takes to be stern in other ways.  Plus, there’s just something about his look that says that he’s not around for any funny business.

Liam Neeson

Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences' 2014 Governors Awards - Arrivals

If you’ve ever seen any of the Taken films then you know that Liam Neeson is nothing to be played with.  Sure, they’re just movies, but it takes a certain type of person to pull off the role of an unstoppable man on a mission.  In his personal life, Neeson has also had to deal with some very tough situations, in 2009 the death of his wife left him a single parent trying to balance raising his two sons with his busy schedule.  Any soldier in Liam Neeson’s army definitely wouldn’t be slacking off, because he certainly doesn’t seem like the type to slack off himself.

Vin Diesel seems like the type of guy who is very serious about everything he does.  Even if it’s something small, it’s likely that he’s willing to put his best foot forward, and that’s the just the type of attitude that would make him a great drill sergeant.  On top of that, he’s also in great shape and would be able to push a group of recruits to reach their full potential both physically and mentally.

Sean Penn

Sean Penn may not be the biggest or strongest guy around, but he’s definitely pretty intense.  He seems like the kind of person who could get people to do exactly what he says without ever having to say much.  Although people like that can be pretty intimidating, they are also usually pretty well-respected – and everyone is more incline to take orders from someone who they respect.

50 Cent

"The Family" World Premiere - Red Carpet

Growing up in Queens definitely wasn’t easy for 50, who was a well-known drug dealer before his rap career took off.  Although his lifestyle eventually led to him being shot several times, it also helped to make him ruthless.  50 isn’t scared of anyone and he has no problem letting it be known.  Although that type of attitude can lead to trouble for civilians, in the military, where situations could easily become life or death, it’s probably a good thing to be able to make tough decisions in a pinch.
