10 Things You Didn’t Know about Leah Messer
Leah Messer is not the kind of girl that really does make all the right choices. We are not saying that she’s a bad person, but we are saying that she seems not to have grown up quite as much as she should have just yet. We all make mistakes; we are only human. However, most people take their mistakes and search somewhere inside the mistake for a lesson that will help us make better, more informed decisions in the future. It happens to be that Leah Messer hasn’t quite gotten to that realization just yet, and she is struggling to improve her life. She’s got a bit of a mess to clean up now that she’s a bit older and she’s working on getting her life together according to her, but we sometimes wonder if it might be a bit too late for her. Either way, we thought you might want to know more about the young lady from Teen Mom 2.
She’s been entertaining to watch on television, but not so much that we forget that there are three kids depending on this young woman to get her stuff together and care for them. It’s quite obvious watching her on television that she has some issues she needs to work through and get in check before she is able to be a better mother. We are certain she does love her kids, but we also know that she might not be the best role model for them at this point in her own life. Here’s hoping she can find the help she needs sooner rather than later.
She did marry her teenage baby daddy
When she was just a teenager who got pregnant with her first child, she didn’t break up with her baby daddy. In fact, she married him. That’s not something that many young women do when they get pregnant at such a young age.
She divorced him
Of course, it was only 6 months later that she and her teenage husband divorced. Leah Messer was caught cheating on Corey Simms, even though he professed his love for her and their children. She decided that wasn’t enough for her and she made a mistake that cost her the marriage she so badly wanted only a few months before that.
She’s a twin mom
Something that people don’t realize about this young woman is that she gave birth to twins the first time around. She was a pregnant teenager who found out she was expecting not just one, but two babies. As a twin mom myself (though I was 30 when I gave birth to mine), I know that it’s a lot of time and commitment to raise two babies at once, and I’m surprised she was able to do it as long as she did.
She might have an eating disorder
There is something that many fans notice when they watch her show, and that is that Leah Messer rarely has food in her house. Not just that she doesn’t have any good food in her house (Because we all say we have no food in the house when we cannot find ice cream or Reese’s or something terrible for us), but her kids actually note that she has no food in the house. They’re hungry and want to eat. We know she’s getting paid well for her reality gig, so we can’t help but wonder if she might have an eating disorder.
She’s got anxiety
Some people are not entirely convinced that Leah Messer has anxiety. She suffers from that and depression, but her ex-husband and his new lady believe she is just an addict who needs the attention she gets from being a certain way.
She’s not always functional
There have been times that her reality show has shown her asleep on the couch in the middle of the day, though that’s not a problem in and of itself. To be quite fair, anyone with twins and a new baby might take a long nap in the middle of the day when the kids are at school and the baby is asleep. It’s perfectly fine. However, she wakes up slurring and unable to care for herself and her kids, and it makes us assume she’s just always a functional young woman.
Her kids are scared of her
She married for a second time, but that doesn’t seem to mean that things are much better for Leah Messer. She and her second husband argued so much one time that her twins told their father that their mom and her husband scare them, so he made the decision to sue her for full custody of the girls.
One of her daughter’s has health issues
One of Leah Messer’s twins suffers from a very rare form of muscular dystrophy, and Leah Messer is not always good about taking her kids to their doctor appointments. In fact, she is not good at all about taking them, and it’s part of the reason her ex sued her for custody.
She doesn’t have primary custody
She only has the kids on the weekends now. The hope, according to the judge who tried their case, is that this will get the kids to school more often. At the age of 6, these little girls need to go to school and their mother was not taking them. Now their father has them Monday through Friday and she only has them Friday afternoon through Monday morning. The hope is that she only has to get them to school one day a week, so maybe she will be able to do that.
She’s divorced a second time
There are some rumors that Leah Messer and her second husband might have reconciled about six months after their divorced was finalized last summer, but those have been put to rest. With him, she has a three-year-old daughter. At the tender age of 23, she is already parents to 3 kids and she has two ex-husbands.
