10 Things You Didn’t Know About Rachel Dolezal

rachel dolezal

It almost seems as if learning anything about Rachel Dolezal, at this point, is questionable at best. There’s so much about her we do not know, and when we do learn something about the woman known for her outstanding lies, we’re not sure whether or not we should believe her. She’s the former NAACP chapter president who lived her life as a black woman despite the fact that her parents have outed her as a white woman. The lies seem to come easily in her life, but what is the truth and what is not? Well, the simple answer is that we do not know. What we do know about her seems to come from her family and from herself. She claims her families acknowledgement of her as a white woman are lies. They claim that her belief she is black is a lie. Who do we believe? Do we even believe any of them? What’s going on? Does lying about her ethnic background make Rachel Dolezal a bad person, or does it really matter in the grand scheme of life? These are questions to which we might never know the answer, but that does not mean we cannot learn more about her as the days go on. Here are 10 things you might not know about Dolezal.

She’s a lot like Caitlyn Jenner

Like the former Bruce Jenner once said, he has identified since childhood as a female and he feels he should live his life as such. Rachel Dolezal says the same thing about her life. She feels as if she has identified as a black woman since she was a little girl, and she has lived her adult life that way. She does not identify as a white woman, despite her heritage and all that she really is. What she does identify as, however, is a black woman.

She’s always felt black

It’s not something she says she decided she wanted to be as an adult. In her mind, she’s been black since the day she was born. It’s never been a question of wanting to be black for her. She just feels she is and that is the simple solution to a simple issue in her mind.

She thinks the world is confused

According to Rachel Dolezal, there is nothing wrong with her lifestyle or the fact that she has spent years pretending to be a black woman. In fact, she does not feel at all confused about her life. She feels, instead, that the rest of the world is the confused party. She feels she’s done nothing wrong and that the world needs to sit back and realize that they are all wrong to feel she is lying.

She’s not going to be white

It’s not a part of her grand plan. She has no intention of living her life as a white woman, and that’s just how she plans on spending the rest of her life. Rachel Dolezal has been very outspoken about the fact that she feels she is a black woman, and that is how she fully intends on living the rest of her life.

She found a black man to pretend to be her father

Apparently, it turns out that Dolezal once met a man from another state and she’s been pretending that he is her father according to her Facebook page. The black man she chose is allegedly someone with whom she struck up a friendship and has been using photos of to make people believe she is black and has a black father. But she maintains she has done nothing wrong.

She feels if her parents hadn’t outed her, she would have explained her life

It’s her opinion that she just needed a little time to explain to her friends, family and colleagues what’s going on in her personal life. She feels as if her parents made it worse than it had to be. She feels as if they had kept quiet about her, she could have been able to sit everyone in her life down and explain to them what she is and who she is and they would have been very understanding.

She wants to write a book of explanation

Now Rachel Dolezal is tired of explaining herself to the people of the world. It’s her idea that she might write a book to tell the world what she wants to say, simply because she is tired of actually saying it. Perhaps she feels as if they will read it and understand it better than they will with her merely speaking. Or perhaps she sees dollar signs in her currently unemployed future.

She’s got a custody agreement that demands she stay in Spokane

She’d love to get out of where she is right now and move away from the people she feels are being unfair to her. She feels somewhere in which she might not be recognized would be a better place for her to live, but she has a custody agreement with her ex that demands she stay where she is with their son. Her plan, however, is to discuss that with him in light of recent occurrences in her life.

She’s doing hair for a living now

In her effort to become a black woman, Rachel Dolezal became a skilled hairdresser, especially for black women. That’s serving her well right now as she’s doing this to make money since losing her job as a professor and with the NAACP. She’s got to do something since she has a 13-year-old son to support as well as herself to support.

She doesn’t feel she did anything wrong

At the end of the day, the world feels mostly as if though this woman was very wrong to attempt to portray herself as someone she is not. She, however, doesn’t feel as if she did anything wrong. She is of the opinion that she did what she felt in her heart to be right, so that makes it right in her eyes.
