Amy Winehouse Hologram May Go On Tour
It was over a year ago that Tupac Shakur returned to the stage several years after his death. Today’s modern technology allows for such things… Amy Winehouse might be the next superstar musician to return to stage post-mortem. Newser obtained the report from the British tabloid the Sun, which revealed that Winehouse could go on tour as a 3D hologram in the not-to-distant future. This is what we have from the report:
“The idea is in its early stages, but it’s hoped that Amy’s dad Mitch will maybe join her and do the introductions.”
As far as funding for the project goes, billionaire Alki David is behind the plan, which would use the same 3D technology that was used for Tupac at the Coachella Music Festival in 2012. That show was so impressive to David that he ended up buying the rights to the technology for a hefty price. He apparently isn’t the only one who loved the hologram, he is currently in litigation with Cirque de Soleil and MGM Resorts for patent infringement.
Are we to understand that most of the dead musicians will now be returning to stage in the form of a 3D hologram? I’m actually surprised that there hasn’t been more buzz around this. You’d think Elvis, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, etc. would get a look before Amy Winehouse.
