It’s a girl for Rachel Bilson! The former OC actress and boyfriend Hayden Christensen have welcomed their first child together, and they gave her a name fit for a princess. Actually, it is the name of a Disney princess. Her name is Briar Rose. The name comes from the classic Disney movie Sleeping Beauty. It’s the name given to the princess after she is hidden away with her fairies so that the evil witch can’t get to her.
The couple has been very excited about the prospect of welcoming their baby for the past few months. Since the news broke in May, it appears that they couple has been the guest of honor at several baby showers and events, and their co-stars have been very outspoken about their own excitement for the duo.
Christensen and Bilson met in 2008 when they starred in the film Jumper. They became engaged at the end of that year, calling off their engagement in 2010 before deciding only three months after their ended engagement that they’d like to reconcile. While they’re no longer engaged, they’re parents now, and it’s something the pair has discussed for a while. Last May, Bilson made that public knowledge.
“I definitely have family on the brain. Having kids is something I want to see in my future – I hope,” she said at the time. She’s normally a very private person, especially when it comes to her love life and family, so that was a big deal to have her open up like that. Her pregnancy was relatively easy if you can use the photos of the couple frolicking in Barbados over the summer as an indicator, but now she’s a mother for the first time. The actress nor her boyfriend have opened up to confirm the news, but it’s only a matter of time.
