Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” Draft Gets Nearly $200K
Man, looks like Bruce still got it. Bruce who, you ask? Well, it sure isn’t Bruce Lee. No, we are talking about famous singer, Bruce Springsteen. Specifically, we are talking about Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” song. The his written draft of that song was just put up for auction, and anyone who doubts the power Bruce still has, all you have to do is look at how much Born to Run sold for and you realize that Springsteen is an icon for a reason.
As Reuters pointed out, the Sotheby’s auction had a huge turn out, and the demand to own that one particular song was really high. People know there may be there one chance to own a piece if musical history. Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” is an iconic song and one of the more mainstream songs that Bruce ever released. It was that very song that helped bridge the gap between his grass roots fans and him becoming a worldwide superstar. In that sense, $200K actually makes a lot sense.
Heck, we’re surprised the song didn’t get millions, quite frankly. This is “the Boss” we are talking about, afterall. Still grateful that Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” did so well in this modern age. I cringe when I try to imagine how much a Miley Cyrus song would potentially sell for.
