Celine Dion Cancels All Things Business Related to Help Husband

Celine Dion is revered for her beautiful singing voice, and her fan base loves listening to her. It’s part of the reason she was offered a residency and show in Las Vegas so long ago. However, anyone anxious to hear her sing in the near future is going to have to pop in one of her old CDs or download her songs in iTunes, because the lovely singer has cancelled her upcoming tour and all of her Las Vegas shows for the foreseeable future.

Dion’s husband, Rene Angelil, is suffering from cancer. The singer’s husband underwent surgery in December to remove a tumor from his throat, and the recovery process has not been easy on the family.

“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support,” Dion, 46, issued in a statement to her fans.

Her 72-year-old husband’s ongoing battle with cancer clearly hasn’t been an easy one (as if there is such thing) for the singer and her family. Married many years, the couple has three children. Rene-Charles is 13 and the couple has a set of fraternal twins, Nelson and Eddy, who are 3-and-a-half.

Anyone planning on seeing Dion in concert in the near future is going to have to wait on all accounts. In addition to her upcoming tour in Asia and her residency in Las Vegas, Dion has also cancelled anything in her life that pertains to business. This news comes not too long after news broke that her performances at Caesar’s Palace would be indefinitely postponed beginning July 29 because of her own health issue, inflammation of her throat muscles.
