Five Things You Didn’t Know About Jason Aldean
You don’t have to like country music, or even like country music singers to appreciate how Jason Aldean rose up to fame in the genre. He didn’t do it by making friends in high places or shilling himself. He rose to fame by touring and paying his dues. He is where he is right now in the pop and country music scene because he has let his talent do the talking. Though most may think they have the artist pegged already, here are five things you didn’t know about Jason Aldean.

Brought Daughter To Miley Cyrus Show
Seems simple enough, but it was more than that. He ended up taking his daughter back stage to meet the pop icon and Jason Aldean claimed Miley was really sweet and genuine to his daughter, which gave him a new respect for the teen pop queen. Gotta admit, it is hard to imagine Jason Aldean at a Miley Cyrus concert, though.

Karaoke Is His Weakness
If you ever see Jason Aldean out at a karaoke bar, be prepared. He says once he gets a few brews in him, his friends cannot keep him off the microphone. They say some of his karaoke standards are Sweet Caroline and he even likes to throw in some classic Eagles here and there. Rumor is he is not only good at his own music, but at singing other people’s tunes, too. A many of many hats. Mostly cowboy hats, though.

He Performed in Bars at Fifteen
This leads us back to what I said in the intro about Jason Aldean paying his dues. Can you imagine playing a country bar at fifteen years old? How intimidating it must have been, but they must have liked him, because look at him now. But don’t forget, years of playing on the road and getting his name out there helped get him where he is. Say overnight success to him and you are likely to offend him and his work ethic.

He Gave Up On Music (Right Before He Was Signed)
Fate has a funny way of playing her hand, right? Seems the country crooner and his wife had moved back Georgia and he began filling out job applications at various places, ready to leave the music dream behind him. Nothing was panning out, and he thought it might be smarter to have a backup, as it seemed music wasn’t working out. Then the label came-a-knockin’, which changed everything.

He Coulda Been A Baseball Star
Again with fate, huh? Seems at one point, Jason Aldean was given the chance at a baseball scholarship because his athletic chops were that good. He toiled about it, and decided that the idea of four more years of school for anything was far scarier than stepping out and taking a chance with his music. So that is just what he did. Again, cannot help but think he made the right choice.
