Grey’s Anatomy’s Sarah Drew Expecting Second Child

Sarah Drew plays the neurotic, panicky, faithful Christian doctor April Kepner on the hit ABC show Grey’s Anatomy, and she’s got some good news going into the fall season of the hit television show. She’s expecting her second child! The Grey’s star already has one little one, her 2-and-a-half old son, Micah, with whom she shares with husband Peter Lanfer.

This past season on Grey’s was an eventful one for Drew, whose character decided to ditch her fiancé at her wedding, in the middle of their vows, to run away with her former love, Jackson Avery, played by Jesse Williams. The couple hop in the car while she’s still in her wedding dress and leave town to get married. Following their wedding, they find out they’re expecting a child of their own, a piece of information that is shared with the rest of their fellow “doctors” on the season finale.

It looks like the prop department at Grey’s won’t have to go out of their way to dress Drew this season now that she and her character are both pregnant. The show can merely follow the star as she grows in real life.

“Peter and I are delighted to announce our pregnancy. We can’t wait to introduce Micah to his little brother or sister,” she said in a statement. The new little one, whose sex remains unknown to the world, should make his or her arrival sometime in December. And while the actress is busy filming her new season and preparing to welcome her new arrival, she’s got it pretty easy as far as parenting her toddler son is concerned.

“He does have tantrums now and again, but for the most part, he’s incredibly sweet and funny and such a good boy. He’s a lot easier than a lot of toddlers. I’m very, very lucky,” she says of her son.
