The Highest Selling Dolly Parton Albums of All-Time

14 time Hall of Famer, Dolly Parton, is one of the most successful and influential country music artists of all time.  The 68 year old singer-songwriter began her career in 1956 at just 10 years old, and by age 13 she was recording her first single.  Throughout the course of her career, Parton has won seven Grammy Awards, 9 Country Music Association awards, and has released 42 solo albums.  Parton’s career has also not been limited to singing, as a songwriter she penned the hit song “I Will Always Love You,” which gained a lot of fame after it was preformed by the late Whitney Houston.  She also has an extensive filmography that includes both television and film apperances which have earned her five Golden Globe nominations.  Her longevity and unique appearance have made Parton and icon across the world.  Here is a list of the highest selling Dolly Parton albums of all time.

5. Blue Smoke

Parton’s 42nd studio album, Blue Smoke, is her highest charting solo album to date. It has been certified gold in the UK, and has sold more than 37,000 copies to date and has received positive feedback from both fans and critics.

4. Heartbreaker

While Parton’s 1978 release, Heartbreaker, was her second cross over project, the album reached number 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Album chart, and held its position for nine weeks. Two of the album’s singles, “Baby I’m Burning,” and ” I Wanna Fall in Love” were also recreated into popular disco remixes.

3. Here You Come Again

Released in 1977, Parton’s Here You Come Again was her first album to ship 1 million copies and reach platinum success.  The album is considered Parton’s first cross-over success and features singles “Here You Come Again,” “It’s All Wrong, But It’s All Right,” “Two Doors Down,” and “Sweet Music Man.”

2. Slow Dancing with the Moon

Parton’s 31st studio release debuted in 1993 and features the song “More Where That Came From” which was featured in Target commercials in 2008. The album was a success on the charts and was certified platinum by the RIAA.

1. Eagle When She Flies

Dolly Parton’s Eagle When She Flies sold 74,000 copies in its first week and was eventually certified platinum by the RIAA.  The album features collaborations from Lorrie Morgan and Ricky Van Shelton and features the singles “Eagle When She Flies,” “Silver and Gold,” and “Rockin’ Years.”
