Her mother is a camp manager at a children’s camp. She is the youngest of three kids, and both of her brothers are older than she. As a child, Jennifer Lawrence was not a happy kid. She states she was diagnosed with hyperactivity and even social anxiety. She did not fit in with her friends and peers at school and always felt like she was an outcast. She managed to convince her parents to let her audition for roles in LA, and she was finally able to do it when her parents agreed that she could so long as she did not give up going to school.
Her first role came in 2006, and it was a small one. More small roles continued to come in for Jennifer Lawrence, and she had steady work in Hollywood. Her family was not surprised, but they were waiting for her to make her big move. Her big role came when she was cast as the daughter of Bill Engvall in the Bill Engvall Show. Critics were shocked and pleased with her performance, and that’s when she began to get bigger and better roles. Of course, it wasn’t until she was cast in a movie called “Winter’s Bone” in 2010 that she was given her big break. She was given her first Academy Award Nomination for the role. She had several more big hits, but it’s the role she plays as Katniss Everdeen in the huge franchise “The Hunger Games,” that made her famous.
