Jillian Michaels Tells us Why She Left the Biggest Loser
Jillian Michaels, celebrity trainer and permanent fixture on the hit NBC show, “The Biggest Loser,” announced this summer that she will not be back for the next season of the show. After whipping her client’s butts into shape (literally) she is leaving the show for good, though it was not announced why she and the series are parting ways. She recently opened up about her departure, setting the truth straight about her decision to leave the show.
“I don’t want fans to think I feel like I’m too big for the show or that I’m seeking greener pastures. I’m so grateful to the show and so sad to leave,” she says of her departure from her long-time job. It all comes down to how she felt her character was being portrayed as of recently, and she’s just not happy with that kind of light.
“In the beginning of the show it was tough love. You saw the tough, and you saw the love. You saw none of the relationships, none of the bonds that I built with my clients,” she says of the recent seasons. She goes on to say that recent episodes have caused viewers and fans to form a negative opinion of her, even though that’s not how she is. She cares for her clients and doesn’t care that the show is no longer making that apparent to those who watch regularly. She is tired of being called abusive and mean, and having people question her parenting skills based on what they see on television as far as NBC portrays her character. She’s the mom of a 2-year-old, and that’s not the kind of thing she wants people thinking about her and her child.
A viewer of the show recently told her daughter, “I know who your mom is – she’s a cheater,” in front of Michaels, which caused her to really think long and hard about her work and her career, and she chose to step back from her bad rap and focus on being a good mom and a caring person instead.
