Joan Rivers’ Doctor Took a Selfie Before Her Cardiac Arrest
Following the death of comedian Joan Rivers, there has been an inquiry into the circumstances regarding the sudden death of the star following a routine procedure at an outpatient clinic in New York City. What’s been discovered is scary.
Reports have surfaced that the clinic performed an unauthorized biopsy of Rivers’ throat during her procedure. She was reportedly unaware that this was going to happen and did not sign any consent forms to allow for it. However, her doctors did it anyway. To add to this disturbing revelation is the fact that the man performing the procedure on Rivers allegedly stopped what he was doing and took the time to take a photograph of himself with the star, calling it at selfie.
CNN reported that a member of the investigation claims that this information is true, and that one of the staff members at the Manhattan Yorkville Endoscopy clinic confirmed that the doctor did, in fact, take a selfie during Rivers’ procedure. The source also claims that Rivers’ went into cardiac arrest during an unauthorized biopsy that caused her to lose her life.
“Yorkville has said and still says that a biopsy of the vocal cords was never attempted or done at its site ever. HIPPA laws prevent us from disclosing any information about patients or their procedures,” said a spokesperson for the clinic.
A representative for the State Department of Health also issued a statement, “The State Department of Health’s investigation is ongoing. As this is an open investigation, DOH cannot comment on any specifics regarding the investigation.”
What is known for certain is that something happened during her routine procedure that caused the star to stop breathing and required immediate medical attention. The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released when the DOH decides they are appropriate for the public.
