John Legend is an American musician with an estimated net worth of $40 million. He was born on December 28, 1978 in Springfield, Ohio. His mother, Phyllis, was a seamstress when he was growing up. His father, Ronald, was in the national guard as well as worked for a factory throughout John Legend’s childhood. He is one of four kids, and he did not always attend public school. His mother chose to occasionally homeschool her children, and that meant that they were sometimes in school and sometimes they learned from home. He began singing in church before he was four, and he was part of the choir when he was only four. By the time he was 7, John Legend was playing the piano like a child prodigy, and he continued to improve his musical abilities over the course of his childhood.
He was the salutatorian of his high school class as North High School, and he was goffered scholarships to both Georgetown University as well as Morehouse College. He was also granted admission to Harvard University. However, he made the decision to attend the University of Pennsylvania. He studied English. During college, he spent a great deal of time focusing on his music. He sang, he performed and he was part of a jazz and pop group. He was good. A friend of his knew singer Lauryn Hill, and introduced the two of them. She decided she loved his abilities and hired him to play the piano for her when she sang a song called “Everything is Everything,” and he did.
It was then that John Legend really began to work on his career. He did shows all over the country, especially where he was living. He was gradually become more and more well-known, and his music was making him even more famous than ever before. In 2004, he released his first album and it had a number of famous faces singing and performing on it. It was a good album, and he made a name for himself. In 2007, John Legend met a model by the name of Chrissy Tiegen. She was part of one of his music videos. The two began dating, and he asked her to marry him in 2011. In 2013, they couple got married. In 2015, the couple announced that they are expecting their first child, a little girl, in 2016 after struggling with infertility and going through IVF to become pregnant. They will welcome their daughter in the spring, and John Legend will very likely right himself some music about this time in his life that the world is going to be so excited to hear.
