Kate Middleton Too Sick to Attend Invictus Games
The 32-year-old Duchess of Cambridge was forced to pull out of yet another engagement this week because of her severe morning sickness during her second pregnancy. The beautiful mother-to-be planned to attend the opening ceremony of her brother-in-law Prince Harry’s Invictus Games. The games are designed by Harry for wounded servicemen and women from across the world as a paralympic style game.
The games opened Wednesday in London, but the Duchess had to sit this one out as she is being treated by her team of doctors in Kensington Palace thanks to her difficult morning sickness. She was also supposed to attend an athletic event on Thursday evening, but the palace has ruled out the possibility of her attending that event at the urging of her doctors and her own personal feelings. Additionally, the Duchess is supposed to travel to Malta in the coming weeks, but the palace has decided that this particular trip is to be “kept under review and a decision taken closer to the time,” the palace said in an official statement.
However, it won’t be a complete loss for the wounded soldiers being honored at the games. The rest of the royal family will be in attendance, including Princes Harry and William, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. The games are important to Harry, who has worked hard to bring them together and choose the wounded servicemen and women he feels deserve to be recognized for their hard work.
Prince William opened up earlier this week about the difficulties his wife faced, saying that the past few days – maybe a week or so – have been very difficult on his wife, and that he was looking forward to getting home to take care of her in her moment of sickness. While the world is looking forward to yet another royal baby, they’re also hoping the Duchess feels better soon.
