Did You Know that Kim Kardashian Produced a Documentary about Mental Illness?

Kim Kardashian Launches Handbags In Sydney

Since becoming a ‘celebrity’ Kim Kardashian has gotten a bit of a bad rap.  Between her ‘leaked’ sex tape, and her two seemingly rushed marriages, many people in the public just aren’t sure how to feel about Kim Kardashian.  Unfortunately, many of her actions have only done things to further people’s negative opinions of her, and she often seems out of touch and clueless. However, over the years, Kim has proven to be a pretty smart business person, and a loving wife and mother who’s a little more down to earth than most people realize. She has worked hard to prove to people who she’s actually a pretty good person.  Recently, Kim partnered with HLN to produce a documentary, Red Flag, which focuses on “using social media as a tool to identify and aid young adults with mental illnesses.”  Apparently, Kim has seen some of her loved ones struggle with mental illness, and holds the cause very dear to her heart.

According to Kim, she is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something so positive, and stated: “I am blessed to be surrounded by family and friends that are loving and nurturing, but not everyone has that kind of support. 25 percent of adults in America will suffer from a mental illness in their lifetime, and many of them turn to social media to vent their depression, loneliness, and isolation.”  With film is set to air on May 5, and TV personality, Dr. Drew will be hosting a live show following the premiere.

You can say what you want about Kim K, but it’s nice to see her take a break from all of the selfies and use her powers for good. She definitely seems to be trying to shed her old image, and so far it seems like she’s heading in the right direction
