A Major Milestone for Eminem: Daughter Hailie Graduates High School
When Eminem came on the scene, he was an instant success with some of the biggest hits around. He hasn’t slowed down, either, winning awards, starring in movies and publicly bashing his ex-wife in a song or two. However, no matter how many milestones the rapper accomplishes, his daughter’s high school graduation was probably one of the most important to him personally. Hailie, Eminem’s daughter about whom he’s been rapping for more than a decade, graduated high school this weekend. The little girl we all got to know through his music is a high school graduate (does that make you feel a little bit old?).
Hailie Mathers graduated this weekend from Chippewa Valley High School in Michigan the same year she was named Prom Queen earlier in the year. Eminem’s daughter didn’t just receive her diploma after more than a decade of school work and socializing, she graduated with honors. During her high school career, the famous-by-association teen worked hard to maintain a high GPA, which earned her the distinction of graduating Summa Cum Laude, which is an honor only bestowed to those who maintain at least a 3.9 GPA.
Hailie also accepted honors such as the Academic Excellence Award and a Department of Psychology Award for her academic achievements. If studying didn’t keep her busy enough, the teen also belonged to the Key Club, Volleyball team and the Student Council. She was also a member of the National Honor Society, and she plans to attend college at Michigan State to pursue a career in psychology.
He’s had many number one hits, awards, accolades and what can only be considered enormous success during his career, but it seems that managing to raise a daughter who is bright and driven might be his biggest success to date. Eminem’s influence in his daughter’s life apparently made a difference as she thanked both him and her mother for their influence in her decisions and life path.
