Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Reportedly Living Apart

It looks like the honeymoon is over for Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey. Amid reports that the couple has been living apart for several months, sources close to the couple confirm that the famous duo will file for divorce before long. Nick Cannon is reportedly spending time living in hotels, and has been for months. The couple has faced divorce rumors before, but none of them as serious as the ones that surfaced this week.

Despite the fact that the couple had been spending time together over the summer, including both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day with their twins Moroccan and Monroe, 3, the couple is not together. “They’ve been living apart for months. He’s been staying in hotels,” says a friend of the couple, “Things have been bad for a while.”

Cannon, 33, and Carey, 45, like to keep things under wraps. The duo wed in 2008 only a few weeks after they first began dating in a super secret ceremony that no one knew about until it was over. In 2013, the couple decided to renew their vows in a lavish, over-the-top ceremony at Disneyland in California. If the rumors are true, this will mark the end of a second marriage for Carey. The pop diva was married to Tommy Mottola, a major music mogul, for approximately 5 years until they divorced in 1998.

Reason for their split is unknown, and reps for the couple did not make any announcements regarding the rumors of marital strife. Last year, however, Cannon said, “We’re so secure with who we are. And Mariah’s my dream girl.” It looks like the dream is over. However, good for the couple for sticking together and raising their kids as a team instead of bashing one another in the press. If their marriage doesn’t work out, at least they’re keeping it cool for the kiddos.
