Prince Charles Says he Wants a Granddaughter
Most grandparents don’t dare choose one sex over the other, but it seems the world’s most famous grandfather-to-be has gone where most grandparents and parents don’t dare; he’d like to have one sex over the other when it comes to his second grandchild. The news of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s pregnancy has been discussed over and over since the news broke earlier this week, and the royal family isn’t hesitant to speak up with excitement over the news of a new royal baby.
Prince Charles is no exception. The royal is excited to become a grandfather for the second time, but he would really like to see his daughter-in-law give birth to a little girl this time around. Of course, he’s the father of two boys and he has a grandson, so it’s not unreasonable to expect the grandfather-to-be to look forward to finally having a little girl running around the palace halls.
When he was congratulated about the news, the Prince replied by thanking his well-wishers. “It’s wonderful to have another one. I’m happy I’m going to be a grandfather again. I’m looking forward to it – but I do hope it will be a girl this time,” he said to those around him. That’s not to say the Prince won’t be happy with another grandson, because he will be. It seems that the desire for a little girl in the family is something everyone wants. Kate Middleton went on the record with her first pregnancy as saying that Prince William really wanted a little girl, but that she’d been hoping for a boy. She got what she wanted the first time around, so hopefully the Princes will get what they want. The most important thing, however, is the health and safety of the new baby and the Duchess of Cambridge, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to add a girl to the family – even though they’ll happily have another boy.
