Ricki Lake Divorcing Second Husband

Shortly after her 2012 wedding to jewelry designer Christian Evans, former talk show host Ricki Lake spoke out about the fact that her second husband was “the one,” but it seems she was not entirely correct. Their relationship was a quick one. The couple met through a mutual friend in 2010, became engaged in 2011 and married in 2012. It appears 2013 was an uneventful year for the duo, but 2014 has them back in the headlines now that Lake has filed for divorce, only a few weeks after filing for legal separation from her husband of two years. She cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

“We just clicked. It just feels like he was the right one all along,” she said of their new marriage back in 2012. “We met through my best friend. He’s a nobody, but he’s somebody to me. He’s everything to me,” she said of her non-famous husband. The former talk show host, now 47, has been married twice. She divorced her first husband, Rob Sussman, in 2003. Sussman is the father of Lake’s two sons who are now 13 and 17. When she divorced her first husband, she was very public about the fact that she was not interested in getting married again. Of course, many people say that when they’re fresh off the end of a failed relationship, and lo and behold she was married just shy of a decade later. Now she’s in the midst of her second divorce, and according to the paperwork filed by the court in the county they reside, the former host is likely going to end up responsible for paying spousal support to her soon-to-be ex-husband.

The couple has no children together, and it’s unclear whether or not they signed a prenup prior to their wedding or if they accumulated any assets together since their marriage.
