Supermodel Cara Delevingne In Talks to Star in Beach Boys Movie
One of the biggest models in the world, Cara Delevingne, is in talks to play the female lead in Fox 2000’s Beach Boys-themed musical All Summer Long. The movie will be directed by Michael Sucsy (The Vow). The movie will be produced by Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Full House alum John Stamos (remember how Uncle Jesse was really into the Beach Boys?!).
The team is awaiting the official green light in order to begin filming. Zadan and Meron have hit home runs before, as they teamed up on the hit movie musicals Hairspray and Chicago. The duo served as executive producers on ABC’s 2000 TV movie The Beach Boys: An American Family along with Stamos, who played with and remains close to the legendary group.
The script is written by Susannah Grant, who created a fictional story and characters that compliment the Beach Boys songs that will drive the film, which takes its title from one of the band’s songs/albums. This sounds familiar to the Beatles song-filled movie Across the Universe. The movie will be set in 1960s California and will be inspired by the band’s music. Fox studio reportedly shelled out $2 million in 2010 for the pitch from Grant along with rights to the Beach Boys catalogue.
Delevingne is now a hyphenate (“model-actress”), as she has been busy filming numerous films. The Brit will star in Michael Winterbottom’s The Face Of An Angel, which will premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival. She also just wrapped Joe Wright’s Pan starring Hugh Jackman along with the Weinstein Company drama Tulip Fever, also starring Christoph Waltz and Dane DeHaan. The list goes on, with movies London Fields and Kids in Love also on the horizon.
The up-and-coming actress made her feature debut in Wright’s Anna Karenina, with Keira Knightley.
