Susan Sarandon is a Grandmother
Susan Saradon can officially begin her role as Honey now that her daughter and son-in-law have welcomed their daughter. Eva Amurri Martino and Kyle Martino welcomed a daughter over the weekend. The couple named their little girl Marlowe Mae. The baby was born August 9. She was 6 pounds 11 ounces at birth. According to the actress’ rep, she and her husband are, “thrilled and enjoying the new addition to their family,” and the same goes for Sarandon, who has been very outspoken about her excitement over becoming a grandmother. She made it very clear when her daughter announced her pregnancy, however, that she would not be going by the moniker, Grandma – or any of its other versions. Instead, she chose a sweet, southern nickname she picked up from a friend, and she’s going to go by Honey.
“I borrowed this name from a dear friend of mine who’s from the South, and his grandma was, “Honey,” she said earlier this year when approached about what her new name would become with the birth of her granddaughter. As far as her role as grandmother is concerned, Saradon has already spoken out about the fact that she’s planning on doing exactly what grandmothers are supposed to do (and parents hate). She’s going to spoil her new granddaughter endless.
“I plan to just completely go against everything my daughter’s trying to do and spoil them completely,” she said in an interview this past March. Amurri Martino and her husband announced they were expecting their first child in February and even announced the sex of the baby when they found out. The couple chose to use a cute photo of a pair of Amurri Martino’s shoes and a pair of little baby girl shoes to announce that their family would expand when their daughter was born.
