Tom Brady is an American professional football player with the NFL with an estimated net worth of $120 million. He was born on August 3, 1977 to Galynn and Thomas Brady, he is the only boy in a family of four kids. He was born in San Mateo, California and was raised a California boy through and through. All his life he was a fan of sports, both watching and playing the game. His favorite football player of all time is Joe Montana, whom he used to watch play in San Francisco growing up. He always knew he wanted to play sports.
Throughout high school, he was an all-around athlete on a number of sports teams. He played football in addition to baseball and basketball. What tends to surprise most people is that he was not a very good football player at first. He was a backup on the JV team in high school and didn’t make one single touchdown pass the first year at all. Even though he was a starter that last two years of his high school career, college recruiters paid him no mind. He simply was not good enough.
He sent out tapes to recruiters and hoped that they would take him. He was a good baseball player, and he was noted and scouted very heavily by MLB recruiters, but he turned them down when he was offered a high-ranking spot in the draft. He was more passionate about another sport and simply did not want to play baseball professionally. He wanted to play football. He was eventually recruited by the University of Michigan, where he began his career in 1995.
He played backup quarterback to Brian Griese for two years. He struggled badly on the field and did not impress anyone. Determined to get better, he practiced all the time and even hired a sports psychologist to help him out. When he finally won a spot as starting quarterback in the 1998 season – a very hard fought battle – he ended up breaking records all over the place. However, he still wasn’t considered good enough to be a big pick for the NFL. He was a 6th round draft pick in 2000, taken by the New England Patriots.
That was a well played plan on the part of the Patriots. He is now one of the best and most famous quarterbacks in NFL history. He holds 4 Super Bowl Championships, two AFC championships and a 172-51 career. He has a son with ex-girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan, and he has two children with his wife, model Gisele Bundchen. They began dating in December 2006, just after he broke up with Bridget Moynahan, who was very newly pregnant at the time.
They married in 2009 and welcomed their son in 2009 and their daughter in 2012. Most of his income comes from the NFL, but he also has several major endorsements with brands such as Under Armour, Movado and Uggs. His wife has an estimated net worth of $360 million and together Gisele and Tom Brady are worth almost a half billion dollars.
