The View Has Two New Co-Hosts
Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy are done with The View. The new season starts September 15 and both of the former co-hosts have vacated their chairs for the upcoming new season. However, that doesn’t mean Whoopi Goldberg is going to be left all alone to talk to herself. It was officially announced over the summer that former View co-host Rosie O’Donnell would return to her old seat, and ABC just announced two more fresh faces to join the cast when the new season starts in just over a week. Actress Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace, MSNBC analyst will join Goldberg and O’Donnell around the table.
“I am beyond thrilled, honored and completely surprised that I’ve been asked to join The View. Knowing that I’ll be in the company of Whoopi, Rosie and Nicolle, three very smart and engaging women that I have an immense amount of respect for, makes it even more unbelievable. The opportunity to connect with our nation’s audience on a daily basis, icing on the cake! Very happy,” says actress Rosie Perez in her official statement following ABC’s announcement of the new additions to the popular daytime show.
An almost entirely new table of co-hosts is not the only change the show is making this year. The co-hosts will return on Monday the 15th to a brand new set with contemporary décor, a new logo and even new colors. In addition to that, the show has a brand new team of producers this season. It looks like fans of The View won’t know what to expect when the new season begins to air on September 15.
It’s been a year of change as the former co-hosts said goodbye to Barbara Walters, who retired after many years in the industry. Soon after her departure, Shepherd and McCarthy both announced their departures, and things have been changing ever since.
