50 Years Later and the Beatles are Amazing at Another Show
You know, The Beatles deserve a national holiday. They really do. I think most people can agree that they are the greatest rock band of all time, and had they not done their thing first, they would not have opened the door for countless amazing acts we have today. They recently proved this by showing that even 50 years later, The Beatles are amazing at what they do. I am sorry, but few bands can touch what this remarkable band has done over the last half century.
So as you know, The Grammy’s recently held a special in honor of the Beatles called Grammy’s Salute the Beatles” and it may have been filled with other acts doing some interesting Beatles covers, but the stand out of the show were the remaining living Beatles taking the stage and showing the entirety of the world that they have not missed a step and can still rock out with the best of them. The Beatles are amazing, and genuinely, never stopped being amazing, even if they did stop being a band for awhile.
Some of the highlights of the show were Katy Perry’s interesting version of Yesterday. Imagine Dragons doing a somewhat surreal version of Revolution. Heck, even Maroon 5 tried their best on a Beatles song. Thing is, the show didn’t really find its legs until Paul and Ringo took the stage. Everything up to that point was a musical appetizer.
For me, personally, Yellow Submarine performed by the surviving members of The Beatles was the real highlight. One of the most surreal and enchanting songs of all time, played 50 years later, and sounding just as good as it did the first time you heard it. We said The Beatles are amazing and we meant it. This only further proved just how amazing, and how lucky we are they are still willing to play those timeless songs for us.
