Big Emmy Wins from the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards

The Emmys were last night, which means those of us that weren’t able to stay up late enough to watch the show are curious as to who won. Was it who you expected? Best Comedy Series

The nominees were impressive, but it was “Modern Family” that took home the award for being the best comedy series on television. It’s hard to disagree with this award.

Best Comedic Actresses and Actors

Julia Louis Dreyfus takes home the nod for her role in “Veep” in the lead actress category. In the male category, the winner is Jim Parsons from “The Big Bang Theory”. In the supporting role, the winner is Allison Janney from “Mom,” and the best supporting actor is Ty Burrell from “Modern Family.”

Best Drama

The big winner of the night was “Breaking Bad,” which took home several awards, just going to show that it’s a show people are devastated to see end.

Best Dramatic Actresses and Actors

The best lead actresses in a drama this year is Julianna Margulies from “The Good Wife,” while the best lead actor went to Bryan Cranston of “Breaking Bad.” The supporting actresses and actor awards both went to “Breaking Bad” characters, Anna Gunn and Aaron Paul.

Best Miniseries or Movie

The winner is “Fargo,” which does not come as a surprise to many, even though many were certain the award would go to “American Horror Story: The Coven.”

Best Actresses and Actors in a Miniseries or Movie

The best actress in a miniseries or movie award went to Jessica Lange for her role in “American Horror Story: The Coven,” and the best lead actor award was given to Benedict Cumberbatch for his role in “Sherlock: His Last Vow.” The supporting actress and actor awards went to Kathy Bates for her role in “American Horror Story: The Coven,” and Martin Freeman from “Sherlock: His Last Vow.”
