Did Bravo Pay Joe and Teresa Giudice’s Restitution?
One of the biggest news stories of the week continues to be the prison sentencing of Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her husband are both headed to prison and the couple was ordered to pay approximately $421,000 in restitution; $411,000 of which is set to be paid to Wells Fargo and the other $10k in fines. But the real question is this: Just how are the Giudice’s going to afford to pay nearly a half million dollars in fines?
What Joe Giudice currently does is unknown; he was, at one time, a successful contractor, but it appears he hasn’t done anything with that in a while. He did have a pizza restaurant, but that’s not going to pay the bills. They do get a paycheck from Bravo for appearing on the Real Housewives, but it’s not that much. Additionally, with Teresa being sent to jail on January 5 for 15 months, she won’t be earning anything on her public appearances. So, just how are the Giudice’s going to pay their fines?
Simple; they’re going to let Bravo do it. News broke early this morning after a source from Bravo approached a few media outlets with information on the interview that the Giudice family gave to Bravo’s Andy Cohen last night on “Watch What Happens Live.” It seems that the network offered to pay $275,000 to Teresa for sitting down with Cohen to talk about the sentencing and the case for the first time, and they offered her husband $50k to do the same. For a grand total of $325,000 the couple spent some time sitting down with Andy Cohen and made enough money to pay most of their restitution.
With the financial situation they are facing, the Giudice’s couldn’t turn down a deal as good as this one. They might still have to face prison sentences, but the couple certainly has less to worry about now in terms of finances.
