Evan Rachel Wood Regrets Her Relationship With Marilyn Manson

It might be a little too late for an “I told you so” for actress Evan Rachel Wood. Young actors and actresses growing up in Hollywood often make mistakes and she was no different when she was in her teens. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Wood, 26, opens up about her relationship with Marilyn Manson. The two became linked when Wood was 19 and the musician, actor and artist was 36-years old.

The actress, who is now married with a child, met Manson in 2006 and the pair hit it off right away. They briefly split in 2008 before reuniting and getting engaged in January of 2010. They called off their wedding plans in August 2010 and officially split. Wood attributes the relationship to being young and making mistakes. She goes on to defend Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, who are also young and going through ‘phases’.

“I was never a Bieber or a Cyrus, but I think the judgment was there, sure,” Wood says, adding, “I can’t imagine what it’s like to be him. When you’re a teenager in an adult career, people expect you to be perfect and expect you to never make mistakes or to be a reckless teenager. And then when you are, they give you such a really hard time for it. You have to remind them that you’re still a kid.”
