SAG Award Nominations are Out: See Who Made It
The SAG Award nominations are out! For those who don’t know, the SAG awards are short for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and it many people in the business consider these awards to be the forerunner to the Oscars. Generally, whatever films get the most nods for the SAG awards tends to go on to do the same at the Oscars. This yea’s SAG award nominations have some real standouts that it is pretty safe to say will be potentially getting some Oscars, too.
The LA Times has all SAG Award nominations, but we can tell you which ones really stood out. The big front runner is Twelve Years As A Slave, with seven nominations. The film is even up for Best Ensemble Cast which is the closest the SAG Awards come to a “best picture” nod. The other Sag Award nomination that really made me happy was seeing James Gandolfini get a nod for Enough Said, even after his untimely passing.
I also feel obligated to tell you that on the TV side of things, Breaking Bad is up for best drama. So, in essence, if Breaking Bad and James Gandolfini wins, everything is right with the world.
We will have a follow up article after the show to tell you who wins and who pouts.
