Seattle is among the most beautiful cities in the United States. It sits on the western part of the State of Washington, near the Pacific Ocean’s coastline. Breathtaking views of snowy mountain peaks and pine trees are common sights even in the metropolitan areas of the city. It’s one of the best places in the Pacific Northwest if you crave the amenities of a big city with the views of the great outdoors nearby. The city has produced some of the biggest stars in Hollywood and the music scene. Many were either born in Seattle or have lived there for some time. Here are twenty of our favorite celebrities from Seattle.

1. Jimi Hendrix

The Famous People reports that the international superstar musician Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle, Washington on November 27, 1942. Hendrix, like many other famous musicians, lost his life at the age of 27. He died of a drug overdose in Kensington, London, England. Hendrix was one of the greatest electric guitarists in the world, combining genres of blues, jazz, and hard rock n roll. He launched his band, The Jimmy Hendrix Experience, and served as lead vocalist and guitarist. He was known throughout the world and influenced a generation of musicians with his unique style.

2. Paul Allen

Paul Allen joined forces with Bill Gates to co-found the Microsoft Corporation. Allen was born in Seattle, Washington on January 21, 1953. He also founded Vulcan Inc, The International SeaKeepers Society, Interval Research Corporation, and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation. He was a brilliant entrepreneur and businessman who also established a private foundation to distribute funding to worthy charities. Allen was known for his philanthropy and for helping boost research projects to help find a cure for cancer, which ultimately took his life. He stands as an example of what a Washington State University dropout can do with a few skills, talents, and a lot of motivation. Allen talked Bill Gates into dropping out of Harvard so they could focus on launching Microsoft. We’d say he chose wisely.

3. Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is an actor who is best known for his appearances on the hit series “The Walking Dead.” He plays the part of Negan, an antagonist on the show. He was born on April 22, 1966, in Seattle, Washington. Morgan played basketball in high school and wanted to become a professional player in the NBA, but an injury made it impossible. He turned his passion to graphic design, but also had an interest in acting. He moved to LA in 1991, and landed a role in the movie “uncaged.” He went on to appear in various television series including “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Supernatural.” He landed the role of The Comedian in “Watchmen,” before his most career-boosting role in “The Walking Dead.”

4. Chris Cornell

Chris Cornell was a beloved lyricist and songwriter best known for his role as the rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist for the band Soundgarden, and as vocalist for Audioslave. He formed the band Temple of the Dog and served as the frontman to pay tribute to Andrew Wood, his dear friend. Chris Cornell also went out on his own and released many solo studio albums. He was one of the pioneers in the grunge music genre movement with a distinct style and unique chord progressions. He earned several Grammy Award nominations, winning several other awards. He was also known for his philanthropy, promoting the rights of children and education. Christ Cornell was born on July 20, 1964, in Seattle, Washington. He died on May 18, 2017, from Hanging in Detroit, Michigan. His death was ruled as a suicide at the age of 52.

Rainn Wilson, also known as Rainn Dietrich Wilson, was born in Seattle, Washington on January 20, 1966. He is a professional actor and comedian best known for his role as Dwight in the popular series “The Office.” He also appeared in notable films including “House of 1000 Corpses,” “America’s Sweethearts,” “Almost Famous,” and many others. Wilson also appeared in many television series in small roles including “Law & Order,”: “Six Feet Under,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” and others. Carol Channing was an American actress, singer, dancer, and comedienne, who launched her career as an entertainer in 1941. She remained active in show business until two years before her death in 2019. She was born in Seattle, Washington on January 31, 1921, and died at Rancho Mirage, California on January 15, 2019, at the age of 97. Channing appeared in numerous Broadway shows and film musicals. Her voice was distinctive and well-known to her fans. She is best known for her performances in “Hello, Dolly!” in 1964, and “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” with Marilyn Monroe in 1949. Her last Broadway performance was in the role of Dolly in 1995. Carol received a Tony Award nomination for her role in “The Vamp” in 1956, with another nomination for her performance in “Show Girl” in 1961. She was also nominated for the award in 1974 for her role in the musical “Lorelei. Her numerous nominations for prestigious awards spoke to her talent and popularity with audiences. In 1967, she won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the film “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” in the part of Muzzy. She also played the part of the white queen in “Alice in Wonderland” in 1985. A documentary of her career was released in 2012 titled “Larger Than Life.”

Seattle PI reports that actor Chris Pratt has spent time living in Seattle, Washington. Although he was born somewhere else, his family moved to Lake Stevens, when he was still a young child. He attended local schools and wrestled on the school’s wrestling team. Pratt is a professional actor. He is best known for his roles in the series “Parks and Rec,” and the box-office hit movie franchise “the Guardians of the Galaxy.” He currently owns a farm in the Sann Juan Islands and remains a devout member of the 12th Man fan group for the Seattle Seahawks.
