Sandra Bullock is one of the most accomplished actresses in the history of Hollywood with a net worth of approximately $200 million. As of 2007, Bullock was recognized as one of the wealthiest celebrities in the entertainment industry. She rose to fame in the 1990s with roles in Speed (1994), The Net (1994), A Time to Kill (1996) and Hope Floats (1998). In total, Bullock would appear in about 40 movies over a span of 27 years. For her efforts Bullock has been awarded The BFCA Award, SAG Award, Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award.

Going back to her immense net worth, Bullock was listed in the 2012 edition of th Guiness Book of World Records as the highest paid actress, with $56 million. Bullock’s acting success is truly unparalleled in the industry. In addition to movie money, the 50-year old actress owns her own production company and restaurant.

Dual Citizenship

These days you can find Sandra Bullock in the same neighborhood as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Though Bullock calls California her home she’s also a German citizen. She was raised in Nuremberg, Germany for twelve years and grew up speaking German. She would often attended opera with her mother (a German opera singer), which is reported to have contributed to her move toward acting.

East Carolina University

Despite spending much of her youth in Germany, Bullock studied theater at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. After school she relocated to New York City to pursue a stage career followed by television and movie roles. Her film debut was in 1987 in ‘Hangmen’ as Lisa Edwards.

Demi Moore Replaced

One of the most pivotal events in Bullock’s career was a role that she wasn’t even the first choice. Bullock replaced Demi Moore in the 1995 film While You Were Sleeping. The romantic-comedy cemented Bullock’s role as a sweet, honest protagonist – a role she would duplicate several times.

Famous Tango Teacher

Robert Duvall taught Sandra how to ballroom dance. Duvall is a very skilled ballroom dancer and also an avid Argentine tango dancer. Bullock is actually a pretty skilled tango and flamenco dancer. We’ve yet to see her really drop her skills in one of her movies, but there’s no doubt that Sandra can cut a rug.


Something most may know about Sandra, but deserves a call out just in case it isn’t know would be her active philanthropy. Bullock is an active supporter of the American Red Cross and has donated over $1 million to the organization FOUR TIMES. She’s donated that much money to the Liberty Disaster Relief Fund, the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunamis, 2010 Haiti Earthquake and the 2011 Japan Earthquake. In 2012, she was elected to the Warren Easton Hall of Fame for charitable donations. She is easily one of the most active and generous philanthropists in Hollywood.
